Currently, Kagi Assistant limits the length of conversations, and once that limit is reached, no additional documents can be uploaded to the same session. This is a significant barrier for academic and research workflows that involve iterative, document-heavy analysis — precisely the kind of use case that the Ultimate plan is designed to support.
Anthropic offers a higher-capacity usage tier for Claude (advertised as "Max — 20x") that extends both context capacity and usage limits well beyond what the standard Claude Pro tier provides. I am requesting that Kagi integrate this tier as an optional add-on or upgraded offering within Kagi Assistant, so that Ultimate plan users can opt in (even at an additional cost) without having to abandon Kagi entirely and manage a separate Anthropic subscription.
A concrete use case: a researcher is working through a literature review. They begin a conversation in Kagi Assistant using Claude Sonnet with extended thinking enabled, uploading several academic papers one by one as the analysis progresses. After several uploads and lengthy back-and-forth, they hit the conversation length ceiling and can no longer attach new PDFs. At this point, starting a fresh conversation means losing all accumulated context — a major disruption.
With Max-tier support, the same researcher could continue uploading documents and maintaining context in a single, uninterrupted session. This mirrors how power users of Claude.ai currently use the Max plan, but keeping everything inside Kagi's unified interface — with search integration, privacy guarantees, and assistant features intact.
Possible implementation paths:
An "Extend with Max" toggle or session upgrade button that activates the higher-capacity tier for a given conversation, billed as a usage add-on.
A new "Ultimate Max" subscription tier above the current Ultimate plan that bundles Max-level Claude access.
A pay-per-session option to unlock extended limits for individual long-running conversations.
The key ask is simply: don't force Ultimate plan users to leave Kagi to access Anthropic's highest capability tier. The willingness to pay more already exists — the feature just needs to be made available.
