Coding assistant ignores custom instructions

Add the following to the custom instructions:

Prefer prose over lists or tables. Avoid bold font.

Ask any question to the built in Coding assistant

It will still use A LOT of lists, tables and bold fonts.

This doesn't happen with other models, which makes me thing the coding assistant just ignores my custom instructions.

The code assistant is visually laid out in the custom assistant section, but there's no edit button for the instructions (see screenshot). I'd therefore assume the custom instructions are perhaps not even applied to the code and study models since those look like predefined custom assistants you perhaps can't even modify.

It seems like the code assistant is using Claude 4.6 Sonnet, so perhaps you could create a new custom assistant which uses that model, but in that case you'd miss the kagi provided custom instructions
