Changing a search query on iOS Safari will not load results

When using Kagi in Safari on iOS 26.3.1 (23D8133), changing the search query in the Kagi search bar will not load any results, and the page gets stuck on the search bar popup:

The issue might be an iOS bug.

The search bar should work as usual.

To get around it, at least I can click the magnifying glass at the right side of the search input box in the Kagi website.

kagi search bar does not react to enter key. search only starts after click on magnifying glas symbol. doesn't matter what browser (i use orion).

Kagi will not search via the Return key on i(Pad)OS if Settings > General > Search Suggestions is enabled. It just does nothing, unless I select one the suggestions.

I am also seeing the same thing as shurik: touching the magnifying glass searches using the search box input, as expected. This is a change from the previous behavior, where Return would always initiate a search.

I've tested this on several iPhones and iPads, with the same results. Solution appears to be either to disable Search Suggestions, or to use the magnifying glass instead the Return key. Very inconvenient, either way. Looks like a bug, either in Kagi or 26.4.1.

Same problem appears in Firefox on iOS! At least since 2026-04-09.

On iOS, whenever I make an initial search it works as usual. But if I try to change the search term and initiate a new search, nothing happens. URL doesn’t change.

Additionally, for some time now the UI is broken whenever I try to use the search bar. I’ve attached an example of what it looks like.

I would expect to continue being able to see what’s on the page and for a new search to be initiated.

Yes I thought it was an Orion issue at first then realized it was everywhere including Safari.

I don’t get how something that big is released. Any UT / QA at Kagi?

When using the website on iOS typing in a query and pressing enter does not submit the query. You have to interact with the UI element on the site to actually search.

This used to work.

Pressing the enter button on the iOS keyboard should submit the search query.

Press enter

Pressing enter should submit the search and I should get search results.
Instead, the keyboard goes away and nothing happens

Please see the attached screen recording. To get it to submit at the end, I have to press the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen
