I love Kagi News, the only reason I read any other news site (NY Times, Ars Technica, etc) is because they have text to speech build into their apps (and some have it built into their regular web interface). This is huge for me, as I have a visual impairment, plus I generally just retain, process, and synthesize information better aurally.
The feature doesn’t need to be crazy—just a few voice choices (female, British English is my personal preference), and a Stop/Start button.
In other apps and websites, this just appears as a sideways arrow, headphones icon, or an audio speaker symbol with the text “Listen to this story” or simply “Listen” next to it.
In my mind, this would appear at the top of every Kagi News item, and you could press the button and have the accessible parts of the article read aloud to you.
Examples of this can be seen everywhere from the New York Times, wired, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, etc, so it is fairly mainstream.
Adding this would make Kagi more accessible to people with visual disabilities or cognitive processing delay delays.
