I thought I'd try this because even though I hate subscriptions for software I install on my computer, this seems like it could be a useful service. But right off the bat it's giving me the same AI-generated websites that have polluted DuckDuckGo. Unlike at DDG, there's no way to leave feedback about a site that it's AI-generated. So presumably you'll just keep serving those up at the top of results.
I tried to leave feedback overall about Kagi, which you'd think Kagi would want from new users. But no, it takes me here, to bug reports. And then it asks me log in, which of course fails, because it doesn’t mention that this is a separate login.
Trying to log in here I got frequent errors that "something went wrong".
Of course, having to log in in the first place means there can't be much privacy.
This feedback system alone suggests there is something terribly wrong over there. Some of the most important feedback is neither a bug nor a feature suggestion. This is a tech-support ticket system.
I'm sorry, I would pay for good results that are less ad-influenced. I'd rather donate to an organization that provides search with better privacy. But I don't see how I can pay to get blitzed with AI-generated spam, which is no better than results from Amazon.
I like your stated philosophy. And I know filtering out AI spam is not easy. But the reality is that so far this looks like a mess.
This form is absurd. It seems clear that Kagi doesn't want feedback at all, so it doesn't want me as a customer. "This field is required."
