Regular Version Is Not the Default Anymore

When will the regular version of Kagi come back?

I’m still seeing this April fools joke version (see screenshot).

It’s April 2, late in the afternoon. This joke has lasted long enough.

How can I get the normal Kagi version back? I know I can do this by clicking on “Regular version” at the bottom. But I do not want to do this every time I open your browser. When I open your browser, I want to see the regular version.

The joke version looks horrible. It hurts my eyes. It makes me want to go back to Google (yes, it’s that bad).

When I open the Kagi browswer from the shortcut in Safari, then I expect the Regular Version of Kagi to show up, not that horrible April Fools joke version that is way, way too cluttered (see screenshot).

I didn't realize it was an April Fool's joke until today. :-O I even did a Kagi search on "why did Kagi hit their home page with an ugly stick?", but got no good answer. It was so bad that i think i threw up a little in my mouth. :-p

Once i realized that it was a joke (seing April 2, 1996), i actually appreciated it more, since i was actively using the WWW in the 90s. I don't remember the web being quite that ugly, but the home page had quite a few links about Kagi on the top level, which was useful.

You're forgiven -- just never do that again! ;-)

I gotta say, I'm all for a good joke, but not being able to immediately permanently disable it was irritating. To wake up today to STILL see it slowly loading has taken the joke way too far.

I got this was an April Fool's joke and thought it funny the first time. But after using the page repeatedly throughout the day, I'm starting to find it really irritating. Particularly as setting it back to normal only lasts until you re-open your browser. Please put it back! It's not funny anymore!!

This will set a cookie to remember that, and clicking "Back to the Future" OR visiting https://kagi.com/?year=present_day will undo this.
