For some time I would ask the assistant to search the web, and it would. As I recall, I could even provide URLs and ask it to use the information from the page. Lately, however, the assistant seems to claim it cannot browse the web - whether I'm using Kimi or Claude or any other model. I can't find a public explanation for this design choice. It strongly degrades the quality of the service for me - as does the very low quality of the "quick" results.
I expect to be able to ask the assistant to search the web and not have it tell me it can't. I expect to be able to provide a URL with information I want it to use (i.e. to form a bibtex entry for a paper), and have it get that information.
