I use the Summarizer a bunch to consume YouTube videos that I’d rather not take the time to watch. While it’s helpful, I think some tweaks would make it excellent. I’d love to see the following improvements, although I know that with the YouTube restrictions not much of this would be possible.
Option to divide the summary into chapters, if the video has chapters marked. The user could choose to summarize only one chapter of the video, or summarize the entire video, but with more emphasis placed on the natural flow of the content.
Provide links to the video, timestamped to the approximate time, at the key moments that are summarized. You can ask the assistant to provide this information currently, but by default it does not provide the video link with the appended timestamp,
Show screenshots of key moments. This may be difficult with the YouTube restrictions, but it would be handy to provide context. These, of course, would be linked to the exact timestamp of the video.
I envision this as an automatic feature that detects a YouTube URL being input into the Summarizer and acts accordingly, but an option to provide an enhanced YouTube summary would work also (and protect the workflow of those that are happy with the current method).
