Large text inputs turn into .txt files

When copy-pasting a large amount of text into the Assistant's query box, that text has recently started being transformed into .txt files.

Is this a deliberate design choice? If so, what is the cut-off point? The .txt behaviour isn't typically exhibited for hundreds/low thousands of words.

For reference, I have not tested this on mobile.

Larger copy-pasted content is now automatically converted to a .txt file and works like any other attachment. This ensures the full original content is always preserved, even in very large threads that hit context window limits. In most cases, it remains fully within the context window. In longer threads, the original content is stored separately and retrieved as needed.

dreifach The threshold is 4000 characters. 🙂 You may also override this behavior with CTRL+SHIFT+V, if needed.
