i'm not into kagi's AI horniness. I disabled the quick answer AI thing (yes you can disable it in settings) and I'm personally pretty happy with the search results.
not sure to understand what you are complaining about. but yes if you are not happy about the efforts Kagi is putting in other products than search. you should probably leave. that is what all AI allegic people (I'm not one of them) should do in fact. and that's your best way to get your voices actually heard. But I guess premium user's voice will be kagi's priority, as, I guess, they bring more money to the company.
Yes, unfortunately, Kagi is yet another (almost useless) AI wrapper company which happens to also provide pretty good search results (which makes it less useless to me) and you probably won't change that. I personally only use search and translate. if I need AI i get it directly from source.
Wrappers (like kagi) suck so much and are pretty useless to me. also it would be keeping me on Kagi.com to do non search related stuff.
today lots of users like to have multiple sources of models to ask their questions and, maybe, keep their bains in sleep mode and just read summarized stuff. Kagi is counting on that.
that's not a business model that will survive time and the big ai bubble burst.
maybe @Vlad will realize at some point, the only way to use AI with Kagi. is just to provide Kagi as an MCP for search with stuff like codex/ Claude CLI/ open claw and what not.
at some point in the future, no one will want to pay for that premium subscription. (unless kagi really provides their own model able to do stuff no other model can)
but in the meantime. I'm enjoying those quality search results they are providing.
After the expectable death of Kagi, I will probably switch to metager, and that's probably what you should try next. but the UI/UX suck so much.
