When starting a fresh session at https://kagi.com/assistant, selecting a Tag from the sidebar incorrectly loads the globally most recent chat, even if that chat belongs to a different Tag.
Steps to replicate:
- Have two chats: Chat A (Newer, with Tag A) and Chat B (Older, with Tag B)
- Open a fresh session at
kagi.com/assistant
- Select Tag B in the sidebar
- The Bug: The UI opens Chat A (the globally newest chat with Tag A) instead of the latest chat within Tag B
This behavior is also demonstrated by the attached video below:
Note: I tested this only on the desktop assistant, but since the mobile app likely shares the same codebase, I suspect this bug is also present there

It would be very nice if selecting a Tag in a fresh session automatically loaded the latest chat within that specific category, rather than defaulting to the most recent chat in my entire history
