Searching for an amount in any currency, like €231.50 or $100 USD, defaults to Australian Dollars (AUD) in the conversion widget. I'm in New Zealand and my location is set as such, but we use NZD here.
An example search is https://kagi.com/search?q=%E2%82%AC231.50&r=nz&sh=6deKYM45ZlY5AORHO3pueg

My location is set to New Zealand, so I'd expect the conversion widget to choose NZD by default. It may also be helpful to show the detected currency in the calculation, as a search like "$200" (https://kagi.com/search?q=%24200&r=nz&sh=S_CWcT8zRi678V47gSLppA) doesn't show the currency it's converting from, just the result.
To be fair, this is already a way better result than the mess Google gives, so kudos for that!
